About Us

HUCG is an entirely student-run non-profit organization. Our leadership comes from a variety of academic backgrounds, ranging from STEM to the humanities. The executive team can be broken down into the consulting side, which oversees casework and interactions with clients, and the operations side, which handles day-to-day logistics for membership activities. The members of the Fall 2025 Board are listed below.

EXEC

Ashley Redhead

Director

Ashley is from Washington, D.C., and is pursuing a concentration in Electrical Engineering at Harvard, where he is also earning a citation in Mandarin. Within HCCG, his casework has spanned market entry, growth strategy, and consumer segmentation. Outside of HCCG, he conducts research on generative computer architecture design frameworks. This summer, Ashley interned at Mastercard’s strategic consulting arm. He is passionate about the future of tech and plans to build his career in the field. In his free time, Ashley enjoys playing volleyball (Harvard Men’s Club Volleyball), DJing, and spending time with his family.

Avani Rai

Vice Director of Consulting

Avani is a junior from Normal, IL living in Lowell House. She is double majoring in Statistics and Economics, with a secondary in Government. In HCCG, Avani's casework has covered everything from strategies to integrate cloud learning platforms to piloting AI offerings for international news publications. Outside HCCG, Avani is a Senior Reporter covering University Finances for The Harvard Crimson, an elected member of Lowell's House Committee, and researcher at Harvard Law School. She will be working as a Summer Business Analyst at McKinsey in their DC office this summer. In her free time, she enjoys hosting Harvard Athletics' football and basketball games.

Luke Yang

Vice Director of Operations

Luke is from Miami, Florida and studies Applied Math to Economics & Computer Science. Through HUCG, Luke has worked in multiple sectors within the technology space, including fintech, machine translation, and real-time communication. In addition to HUCG, Luke serves as a Director for the Franklin Afterschool Enrichment initiative through the Phillips Brooks House Association. Luke has previously completed internships in investment banking and capital markets research. In his free time, you can find Luke obsessing over cars, reading, and shopping for shoes.

Caroline Gao

Associate Director of Engagement

Caroline is from Oregon and is pursuing a double concentration in Economics and Government. Within HCCG, Caroline’s casework has encompassed cross-border venture capital, global NGO growth strategies, and sustainable technology investments. Outside of HCCG, Caroline is involved in the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations, the Institute of Politics, and international political economy research. Caroline has worked in global M&A strategy at Coca-Cola and KPMG, in addition to interning at an anti-corruption law nonprofit. In her free time, Caroline enjoys learning languages and color-coding her playlists.

Janet Ye

Associate Director of Engagement

Janet is from Princeton, NJ and lives in Dunster House. She is double majoring in Economics and Psychology, with a secondary in Computer Science. In her time at HCCG, Janet has designed a strategic investment roadmap for both a financial LLM platform and a global ocean conservancy organization, developed a nonprofit risk assessment framework, and enhanced brand messaging for a major U.S. airline. Outside of HCCG, she serves on the Board of WECode and the Chinese Students Association, as well as DJs for WHRB and volunteers at the Chinatown Afterschool Program through the Phillips Brooks House Association. In her free time, you can find Janet reading, picnicing by the river, or spending too much money on live music!

Noreen Mohamed

Associate Director of Engagement

Noreen is from Raleigh, NC and is concentrating in Economics with a secondary in Computer Science. During her time at HCCG, Noreen has worked on projects focused on marketing strategy, product development, and consumer acquisition. Outside of HCCG, Noreen has taken on various roles ranging from business analyst work to digital marketing strategy both in and beyond Boston. She is also part of Harvard’s Intercollegiate Model United Nations team and serves as the Director of Finance for the Harvard National Model United Nations conference hosted annually in February. In her free time, she loves baking, exploring new cities with her friends, and spending time by the Charles River.

Nyla Nasir

Associate Director of Engagement

Nyla is from the suburbs of Toronto Canada and is pursuing a concentration in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology. During her time in HCCG, Nyla’s casework has focused on everything from market entry to AI integration frameworks to national scaling. Outside of HCCG, Nyla is conducting research in health sciences and regeneration. This past summer, she conducted research as part of the University of Toronto’s SURP program. Nyla plans to pursue a career in medicine, though she is also interested in public heath and consulting and foresees merging these passions in the future. In her free time, she loves hiking and baking.

Samantha Wu

Associate Director of Engagement

Samantha Wu is a junior in Winthrop House concentrating in Applied Math & Economics track with a secondary in History of Art and Architecture. At HCCG, Sam has specialized in whitepapers and expert interview primary methodologies, redesigning the volunteer recruitment process for a national health nonprofit and crafting cross-border market entry strategies for an international payments provider. Outside of HCCG, Samantha is involved in data-driven journalism, leading the Harvard Open Data Project and writing for The Harvard Crimson. Samantha also serves on the board of the Small Claims Advisory Service and researches the spread and influence of economic ideas in the economics department. When she’s not in the HCCG office, you can find her exploring museums, playing percussion, or traveling.

William Mao

Associate Director of Engagement

William is from San Francisco and is pursuing a concentration in Social Studies with a secondary in Economics at Harvard. At HCCG, William’s casework has focused on everything from strategic transformations to market entry to corporate incentive strategies for nonprofits. Outside of HCCG, William reports for The Harvard Crimson and edits for the Harvard International Review. William reported for a local newspaper in Spain last summer and is conducting economics research and reporting in Cambridge, Massachusetts this summer. In his free time, he loves playing squash and tennis and reading.

Michelle Hua

Associate Director of Technical Initiatives

Michelle is originally from Troy, Michigan and is currently double concentrating in Computer Science and Economics. During her time in HCCG, Michelle has consulted for a global technology conglomerate on market entry, consumer product startup on key demographic engagement strategies, and a Fortune 500 tech company on AI AdTech innovations. Outside of HCCG, Michelle is also involved in the Harvard Association for U.S.-China Relations and the Asian American Dance Troupe. This past summer, she worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley. In her free time, Michelle likes to try new restaurants, get boba/matcha lattes, and hang out with friends!

Michelle Zhang

Associate Director of Case Development

Originally from New York City, Michelle is studying Economics with a secondary in East Asian Studies at Harvard University. At HCCG, Michelle has worked on growth strategy, marketing initiatives, and KPI optimization for clients across industries, ranging from video games to retail. Outside of consulting, she serves as the Social Chair for the Harvard College Asia Program, where she organizes events and manages logistics for global conferences. This summer, Michelle will be joining Huron Consulting in Boston, Massachusetts, as part of their Innosight division. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys curating content for her e-commerce business, traveling to new places, and exploring New York’s coffee scene.

Carolyn Lau

Associate Director of Finance and Administration

Carolyn Lau is from Long Island, New York, and is pursuing a double major in Economics and Government at Harvard. As a part of HCCG, Carolyn has enjoyed working on cases in the financial services and consumer retail industry, with scopes ranging from M&A to product development to growth strategy. Outside of HCCG, Carolyn is the Chief Development Officer for Smart Women Securities, Analyst for the Charles River Growth Fund, Sponsorships Director for Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business, and flautist for the Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra. Carolyn has previously worked in both the legal and real estate private equity industries, and will be joining Morgan Stanley’s New York Office for the summer of 2025. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Boston, biking, and scoring great deals at thrift shopping.

Ashley Liu

Associate Director of External Initiatives

Ashley Liu is from New York and is pursuing a double concentration in Economics and Psychology at Harvard. During her time in HCCG, Ashley’s work has spanned market entry strategy, non-profit engagement, and digital growth initiatives, with a strong focus on consumer behavior and emerging tech. Outside of HCCG, Ashley has worked on research at Harvard Law School exploring the intersection of generative AI and legal education, and interned at firms across consulting, finance, and marketing. In her free time, Ashley enjoys films, dance, and hunting down the best bites in the city.

Daniel Liu

Associate Director of Member Affairs

Daniel is from Orlando, FL and studying both Statistics and History of Art and Architecture at Harvard. His casework within HCCG has ranged from statistical marketing models to policymaker and policy analysis. Outside of HCCG, Daniel serves as the Art Editor for The Harvard Advocate, curating contemporary artworks for the nation’s oldest continuously published collegiate literary magazine, and as an analyst for the Charles River Growth Fund. Daniel has previously worked in real estate private equity, and is working at an art gallery for the summer of 2025. In his free time, he enjoys writing poems and thinking about paintings.
