Consult for a Cause

Every year, HCCG hosts Consult for a Cause, a consulting hackathon involving a non-profit organization. This year, HCCG is thrilled to be working with the Youth Engagement Team at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. UNHCR is dedicated to safeguarding the rights and well-being of refugees on a global scale.

Our own HCCG members along with pre-frosh who have indicated interest in our organization have been invited to participate.

CFAC Fall 2023

The Harvard College Consulting Group (HCCG) is incredibly excited to present Consult for a Cause, a day-long consulting hackathon beginning on mid-August in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Our goal is to bring together the bright young minds of HCCG and beyond to tackle real strategic challenges facing teams like the Youth Engagement Team at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The day-long event includes opportunities to develop and showcase problem-solving skills and engage with like-minded students.

Participants spend the week working in teams of 3 - 4 members to produce a short slide deck summarizing research and key insights. At the CFAC event’s conclusion, all teams present their findings to HCCG’s Directors and the decks will be passed along to the Youth Engagement Team.

The following is the prompt for the event. More information regarding the prompt is released the day before the event. What is the current state of UNHCR’s youth engagement relative to the overall landscape of youth engagement in global development? How can UNHCR build its youth advocacy network to maximize its impact in the 5 selected countries?
